Flashcards Colours Montessori

Learn all about colours inspired by the Montessori method of learning. This activity kit consists of 36 flashcards, representing 9 colours. Suits Ages 2-5 years

Suggested games include:

SAME COLORS: Place the “master” cards and those with the colors of the same shade as the “master” cards (you will therefore play with a total of 18 cards). Choose a card, say the name of the color aloud, for example “This is red!”, and invite the child to find the same card. Once found, the child compares the two cards by placing them side by side. And so on with all the other colors.

ORGANIZE THE COLOR SHADES: Pick out the color shade cards. Place them on the table by creating small sequences of three cards, one for each color, placing them from the darkest to the lightest tones. Propose the sequences a few at a time until all nine have been presented. At this point shuffle and put all the cards back onthe table (except for the “master” cards) with the color side up. Ask the child to recompose the sequences by connecting the cards of one color at a time from the darkest to the lightest shades.

COLORED SUBJECTS:After forming all the color sequences, invite the child to turn the cards over. In this way they discover that each shade has an object on the other side that has that same color. The represented objects are purposely photographic to be more easily traceable to reality. At this point we can say the names of the objects aloud.
